Project Proposal

Project Description

This project demonstrates how to set up a real-world cloud-based web server using modern cloud computing technologies. The main goal is to set up, configure, and deploy a virtual server instance that hosts a simple website accessible over the internet.

The project involves starting a virtual machine on AWS EC2, connecting securely via SSH, and installing Apache as the web server. Setting up the server environment, managing files, and deploying a custom HTML webpage are also key parts of the project. This demonstrates core cloud skills including server management, networking, and website hosting.

The project also shows how public IP addresses enable people around the world to access hosted services. Security practices such as key-based authentication are implemented to ensure safe server access.

This project highlights the growing importance of cloud computing in today's digital world. Many businesses and organisations rely on cloud services to store data, run applications, and deliver services efficiently. By completing this project, practical exposure is gained to how cloud environments operate in real-life scenarios.

Overall, this project not only builds technical knowledge but also prepares learners for real-world challenges in cloud computing and modern web development.
